US Grandmaster Zhou Jianchao claimed second place, finishing just half a point behind the champion. The bronze medal was awarded to Ukrainian chess legend Vasyl Ivanchuk, who emerged third by virtue of his superior tiebreak score among a group of seven competitors who all finished with 7 points.
