Andrey Nikitin, appointed by Russian President Vladimir Putin as the acting head of the Ministry of Transport, was born in 1979. He is a graduate of the State University of Management and holds a Doctor of Economics degree.
In 2011, Nikitin assumed the role of Director General of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). By that time, he had already gained leadership experience.
Nikitin led the Agency for Strategic Initiatives until 2017, subsequently becoming the Governor of the Novgorod Region.
In February 2025, Nikitin was appointed Deputy Minister of Transport of Russia.
