For the first time in Russia, a medical institution — the new complex of Hospital No. 62 in Skolkovo, Moscow — will host an international contemporary art exhibition titled “VMESTE” (TOGETHER). Running from April 17 to May 17, this groundbreaking project aims to integrate art into the healthcare setting to foster a healing and supportive environment for patients.
Supported by Moscow’s Departments of Healthcare and Culture, the exhibition features over 200 art objects by more than 70 artists. Key Russian art institutions, including the “SUBSTANTION” creative ecosystem, “Triumph” gallery, and “GES-2” House of Culture, are actively involved in its creation. The initiative underscores the profound role of art in the treatment and recovery process, emphasizing that individuals are not alone in their struggle with illness.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova, highlighted the critical importance of cultivating such patient-centric environments, especially in new medical complexes like this oncology center, to support the emotional well-being of patients from the outset. A significant aspect of the project is that a selection of artworks will remain permanently at the clinic after the exhibition concludes, contributing to a lasting therapeutic atmosphere.
Another Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Natalia Sergunina, noted that the exhibition serves as a prime example of cultural projects expanding beyond traditional museum spaces, enriching public areas throughout the city.
