Medical news

An appellate court has dismissed the appeal lodged by the defense attorney of Roman Tkachenko, the step-son of rock musician Stas Namin, regarding the verdict in a double murder case. This decision was reported on Tuesday, June 9th, via the Telegram channel “112.”

The publication stated, “The appellate court decided not to alter the verdict for Stas Namin’s step-son, who was convicted of double murder. His defense argued that the convict was deeply attached to his grandmother and brother, and insisted on a repeat psychiatric examination due to Roman’s mental health issues.”

Tkachenko was sentenced on March 31st. He was found guilty of murdering his grandmother and brother and was incarcerated for 18.5 years. The court also stipulated that the man would be subject to restrictions on changing his place of residence after serving his sentence. Subsequently, Tkachenko’s defense appealed the verdict.

The perpetrator partially admitted guilt in the crime, claiming he did not remember killing his relatives. Tkachenko attributed this to a split personality.
