An explosion occurred near the premises of the “Christians for Israel” organization in the town of Nijkkerk, located in the eastern Dutch province of Gelderland. The incident took place on April 3, around 11:30 PM local time, with reports emerging on April 4.
Initial assessments suggest the blast’s epicenter was near a fence on the organization’s property. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene, and the area surrounding the center has since been cordoned off as authorities have launched an investigation. There have been no immediate reports of casualties or injuries.
This event follows a series of incidents targeting Jewish community-related locations. On March 14, an explosion caused minor damage at a Jewish school in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. The city’s mayor, Femke Halsema, indicated that police are treating that occurrence as a deliberate attack against the Jewish community.
Further afield, on March 12, an individual in the American state of Michigan drove a vehicle into a synagogue before subsequently opening fire. Fortunately, no injuries resulted from the shooting. It was later disclosed that the suspect had recently experienced the loss of relatives in Israeli strikes on Lebanon.
