Farewell to State Duma Deputy Yuri Shvytkin Begins in Krasnoyarsk

On Friday, March 27, a farewell ceremony for Yuri Shvytkin, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense and a deputy representing the “United Russia” faction, commenced at the Grand Concert Hall of the Philharmonic in Krasnoyarsk.

The esteemed parliamentarian, who passed away on March 23 at the age of 60, will be interred in the Alley of Glory at Badałyk Cemetery. Shvytkin was also recognized as an honorary citizen of Krasnoyarsk.

It has been reported that the cause of death was a planned operation performed at a medical facility in the capital. On March 24, Aleksey Zhuravlev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, paid tribute to the late deputy, emphasizing that Shvytkin was a true combat officer, a fact amply demonstrated by the numerous awards he received during his service.
