In an interview with the ARD television channel, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reaffirmed the country`s stance, stating that although Germany provides military aid to Ukraine, it will not become a direct party to the conflict. Merz specifically highlighted: “Germany will not enter the conflict.” He also emphasized the necessity of joint efforts for a swift end to hostilities.

Separately, it`s worth mentioning recent comments by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During talks with Kyrgyzstan`s Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev, Lavrov sharply criticized what he called the “bellicose plans” of Macron and Merz, stating that they “have completely lost their minds.”
