Identity of Woman Behind Luhansk Ex-Mayor’s Bombing Established

According to the Telegram channel Baza, the identity of the woman who carried out the bombing of former Luhansk mayor Manolis Pilavov has been established.

Investigators have identified the woman who brought an explosive device to a building in Luhansk. The explosion occurred the previous day and resulted in the death of former city head Manolis Pilavov in what is being called a terrorist act.

According to the Baza report, she is Alena Ch., 36 years old, from the town of Bryanka, located 58 km from Luhansk. After arriving in the LPR capital, she left a backpack near the house on Taras Shevchenko Street where Pilavov was located. Eyewitnesses reported that the woman was talking on the phone before the explosion. The blast killed both her and the former mayor.

It is assumed that she may have been used unknowingly, acting on instructions from handlers within the Ukrainian special services. The deceased woman is survived by two children. Earlier, an anonymous SBU representative told Ukrainian media that the special service was involved in the explosion. The Investigative Committee of Russia classified the incident as a terrorist act.
