Singer Philipp Kirkorov, ahead of his 59th birthday, gave an extensive interview to TV host Lera Kudryavtseva on the NTV channel. He touched upon various topics, from his early career steps to the current situation in Russia. He also spoke quite harshly about comedian Maxim Galkin*.
The pop king stated that the artist did not “steal” his then-wife, singer Alla Pugacheva, from him. According to Kirkorov, a crisis in their relationship had already emerged before Galkin*’s appearance, and divorce was imminent. It was at this opportune moment that the comedian entered the picture.
Kirkorov was able to forgive his wife’s infidelity, spoke not a single bad word about her, and even befriended her new partner. He revealed that his relationship with Pugacheva deteriorated seven years ago, and they have not communicated since, occasionally exchanging holiday greetings. The singer is not entirely certain whether Galkin* was to blame.
“He always wanted to be Philipp Kirkorov, he wanted to have what I had. He practically achieved it. Now he has even transformed, like Philipp Kirkorov,” the artist declared.
Recently, Philipp Kirkorov admitted that he had tried to avoid marrying Alla Pugacheva at one point, but the wedding ultimately took place in St. Petersburg.
