Acclaimed British author Len Deighton, celebrated for creating the ‘anti-James Bond’ character, has passed away at the age of 97. His seminal spy novel, The Ipcress File (originally published in French as Ipcress, danger immédiat), was first released in 1962. Notably, this was the very same year that Ian Fleming’s iconic character, James Bond, made its debut on the silver screen.
