Russian blogger Valeria Chekalina, widely known by her pseudonym Lerchek, temporarily departed from a Moscow hospital, where she is undergoing treatment for oncology, to personally celebrate her son Lev’s fourth birthday.
Her partner, Luis Skvichiari, shared this heartwarming news, posting a family photograph that featured Chekalina, their son Lev, and their 10-year-old twins, Alisa and Bogdan. The children currently reside with their father.
Lerchek had previously revealed her serious diagnosis: stage four stomach cancer with metastases discovered in her lungs. Upon confirming the news, she tearfully expressed her strong will and determination to live.
The blogger’s access to medical services has also been a subject of discussion. Her lawyers have claimed that the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) repeatedly denied her requests to visit private medical clinics, including dental appointments. Conversely, representatives for the agency maintain that all her applications for treatment at state-run medical facilities were approved.
