Moscow Apartment Fire: Circus Artist Evgeny Chernov’s Home Blaze Kills Three

A tragic fire in a residential building on Nikoloyamskaya Street in central Moscow is believed to have started in the apartment of renowned circus artist Evgeny Chernov. The incident occurred on the night of Monday, March 23, when a sofa in his residence reportedly caught fire.

Preliminary findings suggest that the blaze was caused by careless handling of fire, possibly due to an unextinguished cigarette. The devastating fire resulted in the deaths of three individuals, while four others suffered injuries. Fortunately, Evgeny Chernov survived the incident.

Following the tragedy, a criminal case has been opened. Emergency services promptly responded, and firefighters successfully extinguished the blaze. A total of 19 residents were safely evacuated from the building.
