Russian Air Defense Downs 71 Ukrainian Drones in Six Hours

Russia’s air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 71 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Saturday, March 21st. This significant activity occurred within a six-hour period, specifically from 14:00 to 20:00 Moscow time.

According to defense officials, these fixed-wing drones were neutralized over an extensive range of territories. The affected areas included the Moscow region, as well as the Kursk, Belgorod, Oryol, Tver, Tula, Bryansk, Vladimir, Ryazan regions, and the Republic of Crimea.

Earlier the same day, between 07:00 and 14:00, Russian air defense forces had already reported the destruction of an additional 54 Ukrainian drones. These earlier aerial threats were intercepted over the Moscow region, Kursk, Belgorod, Kaluga, Smolensk, Tver, Bryansk, Volgograd regions, and the Republic of Bashkortostan.
