Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has presented the “Golden Star” medal to Hero of Russia Sergei Yarashev. Yarashev was honored for his exceptional bravery in maintaining positions near Grishino in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) for an arduous 68 days, a feat acknowledged by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

The head of the defense agency conveyed his deep appreciation to the serviceman for his heroic deed and the unwavering courage displayed during his mission. Minister Belousov extended his best wishes for a speedy recovery and pledged to closely monitor Yarashev’s treatment and rehabilitation journey.

Sergei Yarashev is currently undergoing recovery and health restoration at the distinguished A.A. Vishnevsky National Medical Research Center for High Medical Technologies.

In a related development, it was announced on March 14 that a full-length feature film chronicling the Hero of Russia’s story is in the works, with Andrei Kretov set to produce. Denis Pushilin, the head of the DPR, confirmed that preparations for the movie have already commenced.

Earlier, on March 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin had bestowed the title of Hero of Russia upon the 21-year-old serviceman. Additionally, Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the international media group ‘Russia Today,’ stated that the eighth Tigran Keosayan award would also be presented to a soldier.
