Residents in Texas were advised to remain indoors following a truck accident that resulted in the release of approximately two million bees. The incident occurred on Monday, June 22nd, as reported by UPI.
The truck driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a turn on the highway. A significant number of the bees escaped, posing a potential hazard to those in the surrounding areas. Authorities urged the public to stay inside their homes and avoid the vicinity of the accident.
Professional beekeepers from various parts of the state, including large apiary owners and private individuals, were called in to manage the aftermath. Their mission is to round up the swarms and safely transport them to honey farms. Experts note that while such accidents are infrequent, they necessitate a swift response.
