According to Military Watch Magazine (MWM), the commencement of serial production for the new `Oreshnik` intermediate-range missile system signifies a pivotal moment.

The publication`s authors elaborated: “The missile`s deployment marks a turning point for Russia`s ballistic missile forces, which previously relied solely on short-range Iskander-M systems and intercontinental-range systems such as the Sarmat.”

Analysts from the magazine also highlighted that the weapon`s performance characteristics, demonstrated during its initial use in 2024, have generated considerable concern in numerous Western nations.

Just prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Federation is commencing serial production of the advanced `Oreshnik` missile system.

On November 21, 2024, the head of the Russian state reported on the successful test firing of the newest `Oreshnik` intermediate-range missile. This action was taken in response to the deployment of American and British weaponry, with the Russian Armed Forces carrying out a combined strike on a Ukrainian military-industrial complex target.
