Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued his initial comments following discussions with US President Donald Trump. The meeting took place today in The Hague during the NATO summit and lasted for approximately 50 minutes.

“A lengthy and substantive meeting with President Trump,” Zelensky posted on his Telegram channel, noting that they successfully addressed all genuinely important topics.

“We spoke about how to achieve a ceasefire and establish genuine peace,” the Ukrainian leader elaborated.

He also mentioned that the conversation included discussing “how to protect people.” This likely referred to enhancing Ukraine`s air defense capabilities.

Zelensky conveyed his gratitude to the US President for his “attention and readiness to assist in bringing peace closer.” He indicated that more detailed information about the talks would be provided later.

It is worth noting that Donald Trump himself had previously announced that he intended to discuss “the obvious” and the “small difficulties” Ukraine is currently facing with Zelensky.
