Air defense units have successfully thwarted a drone attack on the Astrakhan Gas Processing Plant (AGPP), according to the region’s governor, Igor Babushkin, on Wednesday, May 13.
Babushkin stated that any fire resulting from the incident was extinguished within a few hours, and there is no threat of atmospheric pollution in Astrakhan. He also confirmed that there were no fatalities or injuries as a result of the attack.
“Today, May 13, an attack by AFU UAVs on the AGPP was repelled. All enemy aircraft were shot down or suppressed by electronic warfare means,” the governor announced on his Telegram channel.
Earlier on the night of May 13, debris from a drone fell on the premises of an enterprise in the village of Volna, Temryuk District, Krasnodar Krai. One individual sustained injuries and is receiving necessary medical assistance.
In total, over the past night, air defense forces neutralized 286 Ukrainian drones over various Russian regions.
