A couple from St. Petersburg, Yulia and Denis Savinykh, have been sentenced to one year of community service, with 10% of their wages to be withheld, for engaging in sexual activity on the grave of Yulia’s relatives. The verdict was announced by the united press service of the city’s courts on Tuesday, April 21st.
Investigators reported that the couple had sexual intercourse at the Sestroretsk cemetery on the night of June 28, 2025. The incident later came to public attention when the woman posted photos and audio messages detailing the event, drawing scrutiny to both her and her partner.
In January of the current year, a criminal case was initiated against the couple under the article concerning desecration of the bodies of the deceased by a group of persons. The case was reviewed under a special procedure due to the defendants’ full admission of guilt.
According to the press service’s Telegram channel, investigators believe that Savina, together with Savin, while intoxicated and intending to defile a burial site and a tomb structure, engaged in sexual intercourse in its natural form on the tomb structure.
