Israel’s Ministry of Health Reports Suspected First Case of Ebola

The Ministry of Health of Israel announced on Saturday, June 20th, the first suspected case of Ebola virus infection in the country. Specialists are currently conducting an investigation.

“An individual suspected of being infected with the Ebola virus is currently isolated and receiving treatment in accordance with established professional protocols for combating highly dangerous infectious diseases,” stated the official announcement.

The Israeli health authority added that the completion of the examination and the final results are expected within 48 hours, as reported by RIA Novosti.

On June 19th, the Ministry of Communication and Media Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo reported that the death toll from Ebola fever in the country had risen to 232 people, with the number of infected individuals reaching 896.

On June 13th, media outlets claimed that the Ebola virus outbreak was a “general rehearsal” for a new global pandemic, citing rapidly declining international healthcare funding and increasingly unstable public trust in science.
