Вице-премьер и министр иностранных дел Молдавии Михай Попшой объявил, что республика завершит процесс выхода из Содружества Независимых Государств (СНГ) через год.
«После того как 8 апреля были подписаны решения о денонсации соглашений, уведомление было отправлено в секретариат в Минске. Мы получили подтверждение о его получении», — сообщил Попшой.
Он уточнил, что окончательное прекращение членства в организации запланировано на 8 апреля следующего года.
Ранее, 12 января, президент Молдавии Майя Санду выразила мнение, что в случае референдума проголосовала бы за объединение страны с Румынией, ссылаясь на сложную геополитическую обстановку. Она подчеркнула, что Молдавии становится труднее выживать и сохранять свой суверенитет и демократию. Однако Санду отметила, что в настоящее время большинство граждан не поддерживает идею объединения с Румынией.
2 апреля парламент Молдавии одобрил в окончательном чтении законопроект о денонсации устава СНГ. Спикер парламента Игорь Гросу напомнил, что ранее, 20 марта, депутаты уже приняли в первом чтении проекты денонсации соглашения о создании СНГ и устава организации.
Moldova to leave CIS in a year
Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi announced that the republic will complete its withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) within a year.
“After the decisions on denunciation of agreements were signed on April 8, a notification was sent to the secretariat in Minsk. We have received confirmation of its receipt,” Popșoi stated.
He clarified that the final termination of membership in the organization is scheduled for April 8 next year.
Earlier, on January 12, Moldovan President Maia Sandu expressed her view that in the event of a referendum, she would vote for the unification of the country with Romania, citing the complex geopolitical situation. She emphasized that it is becoming more difficult for Moldova to survive and maintain its sovereignty and democracy. However, Sandu noted that currently, the majority of citizens do not support the idea of unification with Romania.
On April 2, the Moldovan parliament gave final approval to a bill on the denunciation of the CIS Statute. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu recalled that earlier, on March 20, deputies had already adopted in the first reading the draft denunciation of the agreement on the establishment of the CIS and the organization’s statute.
