Moscow High School Graduates Re-take Unified State Exam Format Tests, Engaging Over 60,000 Students

Medical news

Unified city-wide control examinations, mirroring the format of the Unified State Exam (USE), have concluded for eleventh-graders in Moscow. These assessments took place in all metropolitan schools from March 24th to April 18th, with over 60,000 graduates participating to re-evaluate their knowledge across 11 subjects. This initiative was announced by the press service of the Moscow Department of Education and Science.

Graduates had the opportunity to test their understanding of Russian language, mathematics (both profile and basic), informatics, English, physics, history, biology, chemistry, literature, geography, and social studies through these USE-format control works. Specifically, over 57,000 students took the Russian language test, more than 36,000 tackled profile mathematics, and over 21,000 opted for basic mathematics.

These eleventh-graders had previously undergone similar control works in the USE format at the end of 2025. The repeated assessment allowed them to gauge their progress and build confidence for the upcoming final examinations, identifying areas of mastery and topics requiring further attention.

The assessments were graded by current members of Moscow’s subject commissions, the same experts who will evaluate the actual state exams. Based on the results, special webinars will be conducted for students, parents, and teachers. Experts will provide detailed analyses of common errors and offer recommendations for exam preparation.

The control measurement materials used for these tests were developed by the Federal Institute for Pedagogical Measurements. They are aligned with the 2026 specifications, ensuring that the practice questions accurately reflect those students will encounter in the real USE.

This year’s Unified State Exam will be administered in three phases. The early examination period concludes on April 20th. The main stage commences on June 1st and runs until July 9th. A supplementary period is scheduled from September 4th to 25th. In total, over 93,000 individuals are expected to take the exams in Moscow, with more than 72,000 being this year’s graduates from Moscow’s 11th grades.

Since 2022, Moscow’s eleventh-graders have been preparing for the USE through a specialized format: dedicated practical sessions in subjects crucial for university admission. These sessions constitute at least 40% of the curriculum time in the second half of the academic year, with over 40 program variants developed for the 11 subjects.

Furthermore, graduates can leverage the “Moscow Electronic School” (MES) platform to aid their USE preparation. The MES library’s landing page features a collection titled “Preparation for USE 2026,” offering nearly 440 video tutorials designed for exam readiness.

Additionally, the “Exams” service within the MES electronic diary provides self-preparation tools for the USE. This resource includes video explanations of tasks, automatically graded tests, guidance on filling out answer sheets, videos on time management during exams, and psychological advice for stress management and memory enhancement. For students focusing on mathematics and informatics, the “Tutor AI” service from the “Yandex Uchebnik” educational platform is available. This AI assistant engages students in dialogue to provide detailed, step-by-step explanations for problem-solving.

Moreover, in March 2026, MES launched online courses for USE preparation. These courses are tailored for 11th-graders and are accessible after authorization in the MES library under the “Recommended” section. The program encompasses over 320 video materials designed for in-depth analysis of USE tasks. Each course details the exam’s structure and content, including the number of questions, their thematic distribution, and difficulty levels. A separate section offers advice from teachers and methodologists on approaching each type of USE question. Experienced educators also review examples from past exams and highlight common mistakes.

The implementation of preparatory measures for successful completion of the final essay and state examinations not only helps students achieve high results but also fosters the development of their talents and cultivates skills valuable for their future professions, aligning with the objectives of the national project “Youth and Children” and its “Everything Best for Children” initiative.
