Pentagon UFO Files Reveal Video of Mysterious 'Cold Orbs'

The U.S. Pentagon has unveiled its fifth batch of documents concerning unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP). This collection features video from a military aircraft capturing erratic, blinking lights in the sky.

Recorded in September 2021 on a mobile device, the footage shows the infrared display of a U.S. Special Operations AC-130J gunship during a training exercise over the Gulf of Oman.

An accompanying incident report describes these lights as "multiple unidentified aerial phenomenon observed maneuvering erratically and in formation." The report indicates the objects were flying at lower altitudes, changing speeds between 250 and 1,300 miles per hour, with no discernible propulsion method.

The orbs were first observed after the AC-130J deployed a water-activated flare as a simulated target. A crew member attempting to track the flare with the gunship's infrared cameras detected two "approximately four-foot diameter cold orbs" hovering about 20 feet above the flare. When the aircraft's cannon fired, the UAP reportedly departed rapidly, out of the sensor's view, without changing altitude.

The report likened the orbs' departure pattern to "how dolphins playfully swim in a pod."

This latest release contains several other UAP incident descriptions and is the fifth set of materials released by the Pentagon since May. The agency initiated these releases following an executive order from President Donald Trump in February, which directed federal agencies to "begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters."

The oldest document in the collection dates back to 1953 and details video footage from the previous year, showing blue-white objects described as having a "construction and material not commonly known."

Another heavily redacted FBI report included in this release chronicles several incidents in 2023 and 2024 where pilots reported observing mysterious lights over an undisclosed location. One pilot, according to the document, witnessed these lights on approximately 11 separate occasions. Although the FBI report mentions the pilot using his cell phone to record one of these sightings near Minneapolis, the footage itself was not part of this release.

This latest release also does not include any new direct photographic evidence of UAP. The only new imagery provided are artist renditions of incidents described in some of the reports.

The Pentagon continues to hold additional UAP-related materials. In a statement, chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed that the Department of Defense is "actively working on the next release of UAP files."
