Three Men Found Dead in Burned Car in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug Forest

The bodies of three men were discovered in a burned-out car after a forest fire was extinguished in the Kondinsky district of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region on Tuesday, May 12.

According to investigators, the men had traveled for fishing and were staying overnight in the car. Preliminary findings suggest that the fire may have been caused by the fishermen’s careless use of a gas burner inside the vehicle.

“A report was received stating that during the extinguishing of a forest fire, which occurred five kilometers from the village of Yagodny in the Kondinsky district, near the river, a burned-out car was found. Rescuers recovered the bodies of three residents from Uray and the Kondinsky district from it,” the department’s statement to MAKS reads.

Previously, a car burned near a railway station in the village of Tolstopaltsevo in New Moscow. After the fire was put out, a person’s body was found inside the car. Police arrived at the scene to establish the identity of the deceased.

Before that, the bodies of four men, with no signs of violent death, were discovered in a car near a lake in the city of Vyksa, Nizhny Novgorod region. A criminal case has been initiated under the article on causing death by negligence to two or more persons.
