Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on Monday, June 1, 2023, regarding the strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Henichesk in the Kherson region.
“Kyiv deliberately promotes anti-values: striking WWII veterans on May 9th, demolishing monuments to liberation heroes and erecting memorials to Nazis, speaking of European values while destroying civilians, and marking the World Day for the Protection of Children with another bloody child sacrifice,” Zakharova stated, as quoted by RIA Novosti.
She characterized these actions as a demonstration of a terrorist nature and a rejection of civilizational value orientations.
On May 31st, the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, reported that the number of casualties from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ drone attack on Henichesk had risen to 11. The injured are in hospitals in moderate condition.
News of the incident emerged on the evening of the same day. Vladimir Vasilenko, the press secretary for the governor of the Kherson region, announced that a child had died as a result of the strike by Ukrainian UAVs on Henichesk. Initially, only six casualties were reported.
