In Armavir, residents are being evacuated following a rise in water levels in the Kuban and Urup rivers. This was announced by the city administration’s press service on Wednesday, May 20.

“According to specialists, there is an emergency water release from the reservoir in the Nevinnomyssk region, with a possibility of reaching critical levels. The water is expected to reach the city by 5:00 PM,” the statement said.

Evacuation of residents will be carried out from areas prone to flooding. These territories include Staraya Stanitsa, the village of Krasnaya Polyana, the settlement of Yubileyny, parts of the Severny microdistrict, Barannikov Lane, and the garden associations “Khimik,” “Stroitel,” and “Zarechnoye,” as specified on the administration’s website.

Earlier in May, settlements in the Emelyanovsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Krai, as well as the suburbs of the region’s capital, were flooded due to the overflowing Kacha River. The water level rose by more than 1.5 meters. The residents of the village of Drokino and the settlement of Solontsy were most affected by the rising waters.

In mid-April, a private wooden house in the Nizhny Novgorod region detached from its foundation due to a strong flood. It was carried away into the overflowing Oka River.
