Child Dies After Fall From Ninth-Floor Window in Voronezh

A five-year-old girl has died after falling from a ninth-floor apartment window in Voronezh. The incident was reported on Friday, May 1. Authorities confirmed that the child succumbed to her injuries before medical help could arrive.

The tragedy took place on Rostovskaya Street. The Investigative Committee of Russia has initiated a criminal case under Article 109, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which pertains to causing death by negligence.

Investigators have examined the scene of the incident and a forensic medical examination has been ordered to determine the exact cause of the child’s death. Witnesses are also being interviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.

This incident follows similar tragedies in other Russian cities. In Yekaterinburg, a criminal case was opened following the death of a six-year-old girl who fell from a window. Additionally, in March, an investigation was launched after a two-year-old boy fell from a window in the settlement of Oktyabrsky, Lyubertsy district.
