Helicopter Mobilized for Moscow Hostel Fire

A fire at the ‘Akvarel’ hostel in Moscow has expanded to its second and third floors, prompting the preparation of a helicopter for firefighting efforts. This information was reported by SHOT.

Water for the aerial unit is expected to be sourced from the Cherkizovsky pond. Emergency responders and multiple ambulance crews are present at the scene of the blaze, as reported by Life.ru.

Earlier, the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for Moscow stated that the fire area at the hostel on Montazhnaya Street had increased from 300 to 450 square meters.

Separately, on Sunday, May 24th, a suspected fire broke out at a warehouse belonging to the ‘Leroy Merlin’ hypermarket chain on Altufyevskoye Highway in northeastern Moscow. Witnesses reported hearing explosions. However, the company’s press service denied the reports, stating that “information circulating in the media about a fire at the ‘Lemana PRO’ warehouse on Altufyevskoye Highway is not true.”

On Saturday, firefighters successfully contained a fire at a printing house on Stakhanovskaya Street in southeastern Moscow. The fire had covered an area of 400 square meters, with no injuries reported.
