Iran Offers US to Reopen Strait of Hormuz and Cease Hostilities

Medical news

Iran has proposed to the United States that the Strait of Hormuz be reopened and hostilities cease, with nuclear negotiations to be deferred to a later stage. This information comes from Axios, citing sources.

The three-stage peace formula includes the cessation of the war and guarantees against further military actions against Iran and Lebanon. Additionally, the parties would need to agree on how to manage the Strait of Hormuz after the conflict concludes.

Journalists clarify that Iran’s nuclear program would only be discussed after an agreement is reached on the first two points.

On April 26th, US President Donald Trump stated that Iran had approximately three days before its oil pipelines would rupture due to blockages, noting that the country was facing a shortage of storage for its extracted oil.

Earlier, the White House chief mentioned that following the cancellation of negotiators’ trip to Pakistan, the US received a new proposal from Iran. Trump added that the core of the discussions remains Iran’s guarantees not to pursue nuclear weapons development.
