Putin Discusses Economic Issues, Notes Positive Trends

On Friday, May 15th, Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired a meeting addressing economic concerns, reporting a positive trajectory in several significant indicators. Putin acknowledged that recent government measures and decisions have begun to yield tangible, albeit cautiously described, positive results, as evidenced by favorable statistical data from March.

The President highlighted that Russia’s unemployment rate remains at a historically low level of 2.2 percent. He also stated that Russia’s GDP saw an 1.8 percent increase in March. Putin further emphasized that the economic strategies implemented by the government are already demonstrating their positive impact.

The President drew attention to the encouraging statistical figures from March and instructed officials to solidify the current momentum. He expressed the need for more sustainable economic growth. Additionally, Putin announced that the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will feature a comprehensive and engaging business program.

Earlier, on May 2nd, it was reported that Russia registered the lowest unemployment rate among G20 countries at the close of the first quarter.
