Sharon Stone Reveals the Secret Behind the Iconic “Basic Instinct” Scene Look

Medical news

American actress Sharon Stone has shared how she and director Paul Verhoeven conceived the legendary look for the iconic scene in the film “Basic Instinct.” Her remarks were reported by People magazine.

The renowned film was released in 1992. In the scene in question, Stone appeared in a white jacket and a high-necked mini-dress, with her hair neatly styled back.

According to the actress herself, she wanted her character’s image not to be overly sexualized. For instance, she was reluctant to be exposed on camera.

“I said to the director, ‘I hope you don’t think I’m going to put my breasts on a platter.’ And he replied, ‘I don’t care if you wear a turtleneck and pull your hair into a bun.’ That’s how we came up with this look,” the actress’s words are quoted in the article.

Nine years after the release of the famous film, in 2001, Stone suffered a stroke. For eight years afterward, she underwent extensive rehabilitation and, as the artist admitted, spent all her savings on treatment during this period. The illness itself and the subsequent recovery completely changed her outlook on life.
