Major Renovation Completed on 1959 Residential Building in Moscow's Timiryazevsky District
A comprehensive major renovation has been completed on a five-story residential building located at Vuchitich Street, house 28, building 1, in Moscow's Timiryazevsky district. The work, carried out as part of a city program, involved extensive facade restoration and the updating of common areas.
Significant attention was paid to the complex of works for the restoration and protection of all facade elements. In the initial phase, the facade was thoroughly cleaned of contaminants, joints were raked out and sealed, damaged sections of brickwork were restored, and an antifungal coating was applied. Following these preparatory measures, hydrophobization was performed on all exposed facade surfaces, creating a thin, invisible protective layer for long-term protection of the brick from atmospheric precipitation.
The final stage included the installation of modern windows in common areas, repair of entrance groups and balconies, and the replacement of exterior downspouts. Inside the building, stairwells were updated: railings were repaired, walls received a new finish coat, and old mailboxes were replaced with new ones.
Built in 1959 according to a standard design, this five-story building features a complex plan configuration and concise facades. Its architectural hallmarks include a crowning cornice with modillions running along the entire perimeter. It is worth noting that Vuchitich Street is named in honor of the prominent sculptor E.V. Vuchetich.
