Pashinyan Warns: Opposition Rule Would Lead Armenia to War
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan issued a stark warning on March 19, asserting that if opposition forces were to assume power, Armenia could be drawn into another military conflict.
"They claim not to oppose peace, yet upon taking office, they intend to 'revisit' peace agreements. I want to state directly and unequivocally: this signifies war!" the Armenian leader emphasized.
Pashinyan further suggested that these statements by the opposition were not independently conceived but were instead prepared and conveyed to them by external forces for public delivery.
This is not the first instance where Pashinyan has spoken of internal threats. Last summer, he reported the thwarting of an attempted violent seizure of power, which involved a large-scale conspiracy to orchestrate terrorist acts and destabilize the country. According to him, special services promptly neutralized this criminal group.
Moreover, on September 26, a protest rally took place in Yerevan demanding the Prime Minister's resignation. At that time, the opposition faction "I Have Honor" drafted a statement advocating for the removal of the head of government, underscoring persistent political tension.
