Russian Soldier Downs Ukrainian Drone by Throwing His Rifle
A soldier from the "Vostok" group of forces, identified by the call sign "Shakh," has described to RIA Novosti how he managed to shoot down a Ukrainian drone by throwing his assault rifle at it. The incident took place near Rybalskoye in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the settlement of Rybalskoye on August 15th.
According to Shakh, military personnel accompanying combat vehicles are tasked with monitoring the airspace during movement. If drones are detected, they attempt to neutralize them using small arms.
"We were firing at the drone, and suddenly the ammunition ran out... I was forced to throw my rifle at the drone, and I hit it," Shakh recounted.
