Russian Lunar Program on Track, Says RAS President

Russia's lunar exploration program is proceeding as planned, according to Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). Krasnikov shared this update in a recent interview with RIA Novosti.

"We recently held a meeting with Roscosmos at the Lavochkin Association, reviewing our satellites: Luna-26, Luna-27A, and Luna-27B," Krasnikov stated. "These are slated for launch to the Moon in the coming years. Luna-27A and Luna-27B are intended for landing at the lunar poles. Everything is proceeding according to schedule."

Krasnikov also noted the close collaboration between research institutions and Roscosmos enterprises. "I am pleased that our scientific research institutes, including the Space Research Institute and the Institute of Astronomy, are working closely with Roscosmos enterprises.
