Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that awarding the Order of Princess Olga to the head of European diplomacy, Kaija Kallas, is a manifestation of "satanism." Zakharova expressed bewilderment regarding the connection between the European Union's policy, which she considers destructive for Ukraine, and the legacy of the ancient Rus' Princess Olga, the first ruler of Rus' to adopt Christianity.

The diplomat enumerated actions attributed to Kallas, including calls for accelerated mobilization, involving women in the Ukrainian armed forces, rejecting peace initiatives, and transforming Ukraine into an instrument of war. Zakharova also noted that the current authorities in Kyiv are engaged in the de facto destruction of Orthodoxy in Ukraine, contrasting this with Princess Olga's legacy.

Previously, Kaija Kallas accused Moscow of alleged attacks on 19 countries over the past century but failed to provide specific evidence.

Meanwhile, observers from El Pais have suggested that Kallas, alongside European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, might constitute the worst leadership in Brussels in recent decades.

Note: The international satanism movement is recognized as extremist and prohibited in Russia.
