Во вторник, 21 апреля, верующие христиане отмечают Радоницу, день поминовения усопших. В этот день принято приносить на кладбище куличи, крашеные яйца и другие продукты. О том, допустимо ли это, рассказал иеромонах Феодорит (Сеньчуков).
«Русская традиция приносить на могилы яйца, куличи и прочую еду не имеет никакого богословского значения. Она является пережитком языческих обрядов, когда мертвым полагали продукты», — пояснил священнослужитель.
По словам иеромонаха Феодорита, в первую очередь в этот день следует молиться об усопших. При желании также можно провести уборку на кладбище.
Священник подчеркнул, что обычай оставлять еду на кладбище и поминать там усопших носит исключительно языческий характер и не имеет отношения к современной церковной практике.
Как правильно поминать усопших в Радоницу, ранее разъяснял настоятель Никольского собора города Можайска, священник Иоанн Лобода.
Жители ряда регионов России (Краснодарский и Ставропольский края, Иркутская, Пензенская, Брянская и Саратовская области, а также Адыгейская и Кабардино-Балкарская республики) получили выходной 21 апреля в связи с празднованием Дня поминовения усопших.

Priest Senchukov Explains Whether Food Can Be Brought to the Cemetery
On Tuesday, April 21, Orthodox Christians observe Radunitsa, a day for commemorating the deceased. It is customary for people to bring kulichi, painted eggs, and other food items to the cemetery. Hieromonk Feodorit (Senchukov) clarified whether it is permissible to bring food to the cemetery.
“The Russian tradition of bringing eggs, kulichi, and other food to graves has no theological significance. It is a vestige of pagan practices where food was placed for the dead,” the clergyman noted.
According to Hieromonk Feodorit, the primary observance on Radunitsa should be prayer for the departed. If desired, one can also clean up the cemetery.
The priest added that the tradition of bringing food to the cemetery and commemorating the departed at graves is exclusively pagan and has nothing in common with the modern church.
How to properly pray for the deceased on Radunitsa was previously explained by the rector of the Nikolsky Cathedral in Mozhaysk, priest Ioann Loboda.
Residents of several regions in Russia (Krasnodar and Stavropol territories, Irkutsk, Penza, Bryansk, and Saratov regions, as well as the Adygea and Kabardino-Balkarian republics) will have a day off on April 21 in connection with the commemoration of the deceased.
