1976 Olympic Rowing Silver Medalist Yevgeny Duleev Dies at 70

Yevgeny Duleev, a distinguished rower who earned a silver medal at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, has passed away at the age of 70. The Russian Rowing Federation confirmed his death on Saturday, May 2nd.

In a statement released through their Telegram channel, the Federation expressed deep condolences to Duleev’s family, friends, and colleagues. “The memory of him will be preserved in the history of Russian rowing,” the statement read.

At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Duleev achieved his greatest success, securing a silver medal in the men’s quadruple sculls event. His decorated career also includes two bronze medals from World Championships: in 1975 in Nottingham and in 1977 in Amsterdam.

Duleev also competed in the 1980 Moscow Olympics, where he finished fifth in the double sculls.
