NATO's Bold Ukraine Plan Sparks Western Outrage

MOSCOW, Aug 9 - RIA Novosti. The North Atlantic Alliance's policy towards Ukraine is aimed at prolonging the conflict with Russia, stated Glen Diesen, a professor at the University of Southeast Norway.

"NATO is fighting to the last Ukrainian – boycotting diplomacy, glorifying weapons as the path to peace, forcibly mobilizing Ukrainians, and deporting refugees," he wrote on the social network X.

According to Diesen, portraying this proxy war with Russia as "support for Ukraine" is the most astonishing propaganda stunt he has witnessed in his lifetime.

Moscow believes that supplying weapons to Ukraine hinders settlement, directly involves NATO countries in the conflict, and is a "game with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has noted that any shipments containing weaponry for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia. The Kremlin has stated that pumping Ukraine with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
