Polling stations for State Duma elections open in Pattaya and Phuket
Polling stations have opened in the Thai resort city of Pattaya and on the island of Phuket, Russian diplomats involved with the election commissions told RIA Novosti.
The Russian Embassy in Bangkok confirmed that a mobile polling station for the State Duma elections opened in Pattaya on Saturday at 08:00 (04:00 Moscow time) and will operate until 20:00 (16:00 Moscow time). A mobile election committee dispatched from the embassy is managing the Pattaya site. Voting in Pattaya is scheduled for a single day, September 19.
The Russian Consulate General in Phuket reported that a polling station opened on the second day of voting at the consulate building at 08:00 (04:00 Moscow time). Its operating hours, mirroring the first day, are from 08:00 (04:00 Moscow time) to 20:00 (16:00 Moscow time). Phuket is hosting a three-day voting period, continuing through Sunday.
Voting for the State Duma elections in Thailand follows this schedule: mobile voting took place on Samui island in Surat Thani province on Friday, September 18. On the same day, a polling station opened in Phuket, where voting occurs from September 18-20. Saturday also features mobile voting in Pattaya, with voting at the Russian Embassy polling station in Bangkok scheduled for September 20.
