Pakistan's Ambassador Calls for Cultural Cooperation with Russia

Pakistan advocates for developing cultural cooperation with Russia. The country is ready to send musical ensembles and introduce Russians to its national art, stated Pakistan's Ambassador to Russia, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, at the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum (VEF).

He cited the success of a concert by the musical group Khumariyaan and renowned violinist Rais Khan in Moscow on August 14th, celebrating Pakistan's Independence Day. Over 1,300 people attended the event, prompting Islamabad's intention to send more musical groups to Russia, the ambassador noted.

"Next, our films and television series. Also, our artists – their works are exhibited in New York, Washington, London, and Paris. We want them to be displayed at the Tretyakov Gallery, Pushkin Museum, and the Hermitage. Similarly, we want works by Russian artists to be presented in Pakistan," he said.

Tirmizi specifically highlighted the richness of literature and poetry, subjects he personally admires.

"These are the kinds of connections that should exist between our countries," Tirmizi concluded.

In light of this success, Islamabad intends to send musical groups to Russia, the ambassador emphasized.

"Then our films and television series. And also our artists – their works are exhibited in New York, Washington, London, and Paris. We want them to be exhibited in the Tretyakov Gallery, the Pushkin Museum, and the Hermitage – just as we want works by Russian artists to be presented in Pakistan," he said.

Tirmizi separately noted the richness of literature and poetry, of which he is an admirer.

"These are the ties that should exist between our countries," Tirmizi concluded.
