Prosecutor Opposes Termination of Fyodor Smolov's Fight Case Despite Settlement
The prosecution has opposed the termination of the criminal case concerning an altercation involving former footballer Fyodor Smolov, despite a reconciliation reached between the parties. This information emerged from the courtroom.
Previously, Smolov had reached an out-of-court settlement with the victim, Vladimir Kuzminov, on March 31, paying him four million rubles. Kuzminov did not appear at the court session on April 1 but, through his representative, requested the court to close the case against Smolov.
The court decided to postpone the hearing because the prosecution insists on personally interrogating the victim.
The incident occurred on May 28 last year at a Moscow establishment, where Smolov struck one of the patrons during a quarrel, inflicting moderate bodily harm. Following this, the police initiated a criminal case, and Smolov fully admitted his guilt.
