Son of Missing Usoltseva Family Not Conducting Independent Searches
Daniil Batalov, the son of Irina Usoltseva, who vanished nearly a year ago with her husband and daughter in the Krasnoyarsk taiga, has informed RIA Novosti that he is not pursuing independent searches for his family. He believes they are not in the Kuturchin settlement.
The Usoltsev family – Sergey, Irina, and their five-year-old daughter – disappeared near the village of Kuturchin on September 28, 2025. They had gone hiking towards Mount Buratinka and never returned. Their corgi dog was also with them.
"What steps can be taken for an independent search? The only option is to just wait and stay optimistic. Honestly, I'm convinced they are not in Kuturchin. Both logically and from my heart," Batalov stated when asked if he was taking any steps for independent searches.
The last extensive search operations were conducted in June 2026. Currently, investigators are prioritizing the theory of an accidental death, though they are not dismissing the possibility of criminal activity.
