On May 16th, the Victory Museum is set to unveil a comprehensive cultural program as part of the “Night of Museums” event. Visitors to the museum on Poklonnaya Hill can anticipate a day filled with concerts, film screenings, and immersive guided tours.
“Visitors will have the opportunity to join the ‘Paths of Ancestors’ excursions. This series of immersive programs will traverse three key exhibits: ‘The Feat of the People,’ ‘The Battle of Moscow. The First Victory!,’ and ‘The Road to Victory.’ These are not just narratives of the Great Patriotic War but genuine journeys through time, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of those eras and rediscover the heroic chapters of our ancestors’ history. Guides in historical uniforms will help participants delve into the past, and the program will be further enriched by meetings with ‘star’ guides – renowned actors,” the Victory Museum emphasized.
Residents and visitors to the capital can also learn more about the events of the Great Patriotic War through the interactive program “Invincible and Legendary.” Members of historical reenactment clubs will showcase the uniforms, equipment, and weaponry of Red Army soldiers, sharing insights into the daily lives of those who served. Another program, “The Arsenal,” will focus on weapons developers. Victory Museum guides will reveal the secrets behind famous firearms like the Mosin-Nagant and the Tokarev TT pistol, and visitors will even have the chance to hold the legendary Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Guests at the Poklonnaya Hill museum will also be treated to film screenings, with Soviet films from the Great Patriotic War era, such as “Six O’Clock in the Evening After the War” and “In the Name of the Motherland,” to be presented to the public.
The event begins at 6:00 PM. Entry is free as part of the “Night of Museums” initiative, with the exception of access to the “The Feat of the People,” “The Battle of Moscow. The First Victory!,” and “The Road to Victory” exhibits.
