Moscow’s air defense forces have eliminated two more Ukrainian drones that were en route to the capital. This announcement was made on Friday, May 8th, by the city’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin.
“Two UAVs were destroyed by air defense systems of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” he stated in his Telegram channel.
Emergency services are currently working at the sites where the drone debris has fallen.
On the evening of May 7th, air defense systems neutralized 95 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory within a four-hour period, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense. These UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk, Belgorod, Rostov, Kaluga, Voronezh, Kursk, and Smolensk regions, as well as the Krasnodar Krai, Crimea, the Moscow region, and over the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
Previously, Ukrainian forces used drones to strike an industrial facility in the Perm Krai. Fortunately, there were no casualties as a result of that attack. The regional governor, Dmitry Makhonin, urged residents to seek shelter when local warning systems are activated.
