“Simply on a Human Level”: Simonyan States Trump Sympathizes with Putin

Medical news

U.S. President Donald Trump feels a personal affinity for Russian leader Vladimir Putin, attributed to their belonging to the same generation and holding similar conservative viewpoints. This was stated by Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT television channel, during the program “New Russian Sensations” on NTV.

She further emphasized that there could be no other dynamic in the relationship between the two presidents.

“In my opinion, it’s completely obvious that Putin is sympathetic to Trump, simply on a human level. And it cannot be any other way. Because they are people of the same generation, they are people with similarly conservative values, they are people with a normal male understanding of life,” the journalist said.

Trump himself has repeatedly spoken highly of his Russian counterpart. For example, in November of last year, the American leader remarked that the heads of Russia and China, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, are intelligent and strong individuals with whom it’s best not to meddle.

American journalist Tucker Carlson, in turn, believes that one cannot find anyone in the entire world who dislikes Putin. Such people are impossible to find in Western or Eastern Europe, Asia, or the Middle East.
