Madrid, Oct 21 - RIA Novosti. Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the remarks made by Argentine President Javier Milei targeting Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, according to an official statement from the ministry.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses its strongest condemnation of the insults and slander directed by Javier Milei at the President of the Government, Spain, and the Spanish people. We also most forcefully condemn the call for violence issued this morning," the Foreign Ministry's statement reads.

The ministry emphasized that Spain is a sovereign state and does not accept foreign interference, nor attacks and insults against its head of government and democratically elected institutions.

The Foreign Ministry also deemed it inappropriate for the head of a friendly nation to visit Spain with the sole aim of attempting to create an atmosphere of polarization and violence among Spaniards and between Spain and Argentina.

Earlier on Wednesday, Milei, speaking in Madrid, called Sánchez a "disgraceful dictator." He stated that Spain had welcomed hundreds of thousands of Argentinians in recent years who, he claimed, fled the consequences of the "sinister 21st-century socialism," adding that Spaniards regularly suffer the same under Sánchez.
