Russia to Implement Migrant Tracking System
Russia intends to implement a nationwide system for tracking migrants, drawing inspiration from the successful pilot program in Moscow and the Moscow Oblast. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev confirmed this plan, highlighting the effectiveness of modern technologies in combating illegal migration and crime. He noted that Moscow has accumulated substantial experience with its existing system, which utilizes the 'Amina' application.
"Yes, this is precisely the approach we are going to implement. Moscow has become a large testing ground for the application of the new system and has accumulated considerable experience. Moreover, the whole world uses the capabilities of modern technologies to prevent illegal migration and combat crime. We are, naturally, doing this as well," Medvedev stated in an interview with the newspaper Vedomosti, in response to a question about whether a system similar to the one operating in Moscow and the Moscow Oblast with the 'Amina' application is planned for the whole of Russia.
